Most drummers don’t realise how much the hardware on a conventional snare interferes with the sound. Every lug, screw, bracket, and mounting point adds mass loading, damping, and tension distortion. Studies on snare acoustics show that this hardware‑to‑shell contact creates chaotic vibration, unstable tuning, and the kind of overtones that make a snare feel unpredictable or “off.”

The One‑Point Tube Lug: The Hidden Free‑Floating Mechanism
Each Stealth tube lug is mounted at a single point and fitted with an external grub screw. When you loosen that screw, the tube releases from its base, instantly removing the shell from the tension path.
The moment the tube is released, the snare becomes a fully free‑floating system:
The shell is no longer carrying any tension
The heads level themselves naturally
The tension is shared between the hoop and both heads
The shell vibrates freely, without hardware damping
Overtones drop dramatically

You can tighten the grub screw again at any time to lock in pitch or return to conventional behaviour.
Head Behaviour: No Equalisation — True Harmonisation
A common misconception is that free‑floating systems “equalise” the heads. They don’t — and the Stealth Line proves it.
Because the shell is removed from the tension system, each head settles at the tension it naturally needs based on its thickness and mass. This means:
The batter head keeps its own tension
The resonant head keeps its own tension
They do not equalise
They simply interact more cleanly
This is exactly what the studies show:
The heads vibrate in different modes
Their coupling becomes more predictable when the shell is not interfering
Thinner heads naturally settle at higher tension
Pitch becomes more stable
Tuning becomes easier and more repeatable
Overtones reduce because the shell is no longer distorting the vibration
In short: the Stealth system harmonises the heads — it doesn’t equalise them.
You get a snare that tunes faster, stays in tune longer, and produces a cleaner, more controlled pitch.
Minimal Shell Contact — Maximum Stability
The Stealth Line uses a single mounting screw per tube lug, but not in the way conventional lugs do. Each mounting screw is countersunk into the shell, leaving the inside perfectly clean: no bulky washers, no protruding hardware, nothing interfering with airflow or resonance. This keeps the shell interior smooth, controlled, and visually flawless.
But the real innovation is how the Stealth tube lug behaves under tension.
Two‑Sided Tube Lug = Balanced Forces
On a conventional snare, every lug is pulled sideways by the tension of the head it supports. This is why manufacturers use oversized bolts, thick washers, and heavy hardware inside the shell; they’re fighting the sideways pull created by the tension rods.
The Stealth tube lug eliminates that problem.
Because the tube lug is two‑sided, both heads pull on the tube at the same time, in opposite directions. These forces cancel each other out. The result:
No sideways pull on the shell
No stress on the mounting screw
No risk of the screw being pulled outward
No need for oversized bolts or washers
The mounting screw isn’t fighting tension — it’s simply holding the lug in place.
This is why the Stealth system can use a single countersunk screw without compromising strength, tuning stability, or durability.
