Maple stave-shell with universal hardware slot
Made from locally sourced maple wood, with the end result in mind to minimise waste.
Maple wood is the preferred choice of wood for drum making because of its density and ease of tooling.
The tone of maple is very clear with a frequency response that emphasises the mid and high transients.
A sound with strong midrange focus, controlled highs, and a supportive low end.
The universal hardware slot makes it very easy to install the strainer and but plate (vertical) and doubles as pressure release vents.
You can switch the strainer for another type and brand without redrilling the holes.
This drum shell can be used for the Z drums free-floating system, the stealth system, or for your own conventional build.
Stave Construction, Classic Maple Tone
Stave construction gives maple a direct, focused voice compared to traditional ply shells.
The vertical grain orientation improves projection and ensures consistent resonance around the shell.
Notes speak clearly at both low and high tunings, making the shell predictable, musical, and easy to work with.
Designed for Free-Floating Hardware
By eliminating hardware scewed to the shell, the natural tone of the wood is improved as well as the response and tuning stability.
The result is a snare drum that feels more alive, more dynamic, and easier to tune.
