Solid Maple stave shell with a clear finish with water-based French polish. Hardware ring painted in metallic gold, with adjustable chrome strainer and butt end by TAMA (MLS50).
The handmade 14×6.5-inch, 12mm thick Maple shell has two Sapele wooden inlays to mark the snare beds. Rounded over on the outside and 45 degrees on the inside bearing edges. Signature trinity airholes 12mm. No metal parts are fixed on the shell.
Sound qualities:
The response is direct when playing softly, and the sound is delicate with a great response of the wires.
When playing hard, the floating wooden shell gives loads of low end, and the metal outer shell provides the power of a metal snare drum.
The rimshot has a lot of depth, and because of the floating nature of the drum, every type of playing gives a lot of nuances, tone, and colour.
The overall sound is a mix between a wooden and a metal snare.
The custom-made tube lugs can be ordered as replacement parts. You will receive a spare with this snare.
The snare wires can stay in place when changing heads. After removing the top head, the wooden shell can be taken out, and the bottom head can be removed and replaced.
The snare fits in regular hard cases for 14-inch snares. Hardcase included!
